Saira Salyani is a rising Junior at Great Valley High School in Malvern, Pennsylvania. She is President of her school’s chapter of HSDPA, and an officer at Model United Nations club. During the summers, she interns at the Rendell Center for Civics and Civic Engagement, an initiative for better civic education started by Governor Ed Rendell and Judge Marjorie Rendell. A dedicated journalist, Saira is a writer at her school newspaper and The Progressive Teen. At the 2017 March for Science in Philadelphia, she gave a speech encouraging people to make their voices heard in Washington by continuing to protest, vote, and call their representatives. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing the piano, and reading.
