Isabel is a senior at Taylor Allderdice High School in the East End of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she founded her school’s HSDPA chapter as a sophomore, and is currently its Chair. She loves being in Washington, D.C.- in particular, to attend marches and to lobby elected officials for issues that she cares about. Isabel was one of Pennsylvania’s very first Hillary for America Fellows of high school age, which set precedent for other high schoolers to become involved in the Fellowship. She researches behavioral economics at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on the student debt crisis and women executives. At school, Isabel is on the Varsity soccer, mock trial, and Academic WorldQuest teams, is involved in Student Voices, writes for the school newspaper, and tutors other students in science and math. Isabel is also very involved in NFTY, which is a youth-driven leadership organization of thousands of Reform Jewish teens across North America. She is the President of NFTY’s Pennsylvania Area Region, which encompasses Pennsylvania and parts of three other mid-Atlantic states. When not at any of these activities, you can probably find Isabel volunteering in her community, traveling to one of the beautiful National Parks, reading the New York Times, or hanging out with her friends. She is spending this summer interning in the Pittsburgh City Council Building for Councilman Daniel Gilman, a young and progressive Democrat!
